AWH PROJECT SAFETY

HEALTH, SAFETY, & ENVIRONMENTAL

In all phases of its endeavors, our Company is guided by an established HSE Program. This program is based on a sincere desire to eliminate personal injuries, occupational injuries or illnesses and damage to equipment and property, as well as to protect the public whenever and wherever the public is exposed to, in contact with, or is affected by, the company's work.

CRAFT LEADERSHIP (CLS).

CrafIt all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

CLS is a supplemental communication tool for the front line. All jobs, big or small, will implement a version of CLS. Volunteer CLS members will meet weekly with the PM to voice anonymous concerns that have been brought to their attention by fellow craft persons. TCLS is for the craft by the craft.

“For me CLS means being part of a bigger picture. Part of a group that breaks that barrier between management and the field workers. A group in which we are more involved with the workers, to help the job be more efficient, productive, and overall safer places. Becoming that voice that management will listen to.”

Georgette De La Rosa, AWH CLS Lead

FIELD SAFETY INITIATIVES

Safety Good Catch AWARDS

This program was implemented to increase everyone’s interest in recognizing areas of safety, quality and productivity improvements from workers. The “Good Catch” cards are available to all supervisors and hourly employees. The cards are completed and turned into the CLS Committee who reviews the cards and assures that any corrective measures were taken if required.

STOP WORK Authority

All attendees of the Safety Orientation receive a Stop Work Authority card. The orientation describes that everyone on the job has the authority and is expected to stop work when there is any indication that the methods or conditions in the workplace are unsafe.

Monthly Job Safety Meeting

The monthly all job safety Huddle with crews was held at the Texas A.M. Agri-Bldg. The guest speaker was the City Carrollton Public Safety Director Rex Redden who presented an Active Shooter Presentation. AWH crews and subcontractors attended. During the event it was stressed for the employees to learn and take the message home to their families
